How to Deal with Anxiety Naturally

Isn't it wild that even when we see the word anxiety, it seems like our mind is immediately flooded with all of our concerns? Whether we are thinking about our family issues, or the long list of tasks we need to accomplish for the week, the weight of everything often feels unbearable. Consider all the ways you cope with feelings of anxiety now. Have you had any relief? Are your current strategies healthy or unhealthy? Well, keep reading if you want to hear about some natural remedies to help ease your anxiety.

Limit Caffeine Intake

Caffeine is linked to anxiety due to caffeine's ability to alter the brain's chemistry. Of course, your own brain would need to be undergo a variety of tests in order to determine the impact. I love coffee but I'm learning that cutting back day to day is more beneficial for my overall health. A moderate intake of caffeine is safe for most people. If you are a coffee drinker like me, challenge yourself by doing a 3 day detox and see how your body and emotions feel.

Journaling

Have you ever considered that expressing your anxiety can actually help you manage your anxiety better? Pretty interesting to think about, but sometimes, simply writing down what's worrying you will relieve the weight or pressure that you constantly feel. A research study in 2018 found that emotion-based journaling may reduce mental distress and improve overall well-being. So, go buy a journal or simply a piece of paper and get to writing. You'll be surprised at how you feel afterwards.

Exercise

There are many studies that show that exercise especially high intensity exercise can help reduce anxiety symptoms. Surprisingly, some people unconsciously tense their muscles in response to anxiety. So, let's start incorporating exercise in our day more frequently. Some exercises help relieve muscle tension. Remember it doesn't have to be an hour high intensity workout but even a swift walk in your neighborhood will be a tremendous help.

Prioritizing Herbal Health

If you weren't aware, there are several herbs that you can incorporate in your diet that may provide relief to your stress. For example, lavender, chamomile, lemon balm, and any more. In my home, we like to turn on our air diffuser before bed and add lavender essential oil droplets. Not only does it help with the smell of the room, and winding down for bed, it also helps ease potential stress from the day. If you are looking for some type of supplement, try Nature's Bounty brand for Anxiety & Stress Relief.

Try these natural remedies and let me know if any work fir you. Focus on implementing one of them and then add more as time progresses. If you need a coach who will motivate you along your health journey, I'm here for you. Let's do it together!
